It’s not often that on my website you’ll see reference pictures if you are not an artist looking for them.

But since I’ve been receiving emails asking me how I go about the reference pictures for the artists.. I had 2 sets to do today so I thought I’d show you…

First : Flying for Sandra Chang

This morning I received a sketch from my friend, artist Sandra Chang for which she needed reference pictures for a new Drakaina painting.. I can’t post the sketch here but if I don’t give you any explanation you are really gonna think I turned crazy, making weird pictures that -without the sketch explanations – makes no sense what so ever..

Basically the artwork will involve a futuristic me, flying and handling guns at once.. My pup, Beltane, is part of the picture too, thus why she invited herself during the “shoot”. En gros, cette illus sera futuristique, avec moi en vole et jouant de mes armes.. Ma puce fait aussi partie de l’illus donc quand elle s’est invitée sur le lit je l’y ai laissée

Then: Fighting for KellyX

Once again, I can’t reveal a lot, let’s just say that Kelly’s project involve models fighting for different causes.. Some light, some pretty heavy.. I didn’t want to go with the basic fist that everyone would expect so I just went with the flow. Une scene de fight  pour Kelly..

Once again pics are un edited, but I had to add a filter to convey the feeling I had in mind… Les photos sont encore une fois non retouchees, a l’execption du filtre couleur que j’ai ajouté pour faire passer l’idée que j’avais en tete

NB:I put the “” at shoot because, this was done in 5 minutes, with no lights, other than the natural light coming from the window and the ceiling light, there is no preparation, the pictures you are about to see are raw pics (not edited at all) but we (I  enlisted Ariock to take the pics – or press the button,as he says since there is nothing else to describe what he did, as in he didn’t put any artistic thoughts to it – )were not trying to make art, just take reference pictures for Sandra and Kelly ASAP

J’ai mis les “” a seance photo car ses seances n’etaient absolument pas preparées, il n’y a pas de lumieres, a part celle de la fenetre de la chambre et du plafond, aucune prepa (juste deplacé ce qui se trouve autours du lit) les photos ne sont pas retouchées, pas lissées, pas mise en lumiere etc.. Bref elles sont a l’etat brut car nous (j’ai demandé l’aide d’Ariock pour prendre les photos – ou appuyer sur le bouton comme il dit si bien ) ne cherchions ni a faire de l’art ni de belles photos mais des photos de réferences pour les artistes au plus vite
