Drakaina in issue # 61 of Tarot, Witch of the Black Rose

It’s a great delight for me to announce that yours truly will be featured in issue number 61 of Tarot, Witch of the Black Rose, as a Broadsword Girl (out March 2010). For the 10th Anniversary issue no less!! And to me, this is a helluva honor!!
Let me explain…
I’ve always been into comic books, and the day I got my hands of my first issue of Tarot, it was like a dream come true.. Not only the main character is a sexy redhead with curves to die for, but she is also a Witch, fighting for harmony against the forces of prejudice & darkness. Plus the story is set in present time, which adds to my liking ;).
Needless to say I became an instant fan, thanks to Jim Balent’s stunning art, as well as his quick, sassy and seductive writing style. As the author says,
“the main message that Tarot teaches us is “Tolerance” and “Acceptance”. Be it racial, sexual or just acceptance of oneself, these teachings are throughout the books”

Short survey please answer :)!!
Lately I’ve been asked by quite few people if there would ever be a Drakaina statue (you know these 1/6 action figures like statues, not the stone ones ;)) and I am starting to seriously toy with the idea in my mind…So at fist I wanted to create a small poll to see if there would even be a market for it, but then it turned into a 3 minutes (top) survey asking you about various aspects of Drakaina.com as well as already available and future merchandising .
So I would really really appreciate if you took 3 minutes of your time to anwser this very short survey!!

Convention Spotilight: Hal-Con

Hal-Con is a convention in Halifax Nova Scotia. It’s got a diverse set of guests and events, and when I talked to the staff, I found the diversity applied to their profan events.
Hal-Con’s approach is to be open about new panels of all kinds, and seek a balance of fun and practical. When I say open-minded, I’m quite serious - Hal-Con looks for and encourages diversity, and you’ll find everything from your typical events to serious discussion of lightsaber handling. They like to see what the fans and guests will suggests and have the courage to try.
This diversity also affects their profan panels in a delightful way. Among their upcoming offerings:
- Multiple writing panels, playing to the author’s strengths.
- A panel with model Drakaina (warning, some NSFW content) whose fannish interests led to her modeling for fantasy and SF works.
- Multiple filmmaking groups discussing their efforts, and even a filmed “nerd debate.”
Hal-Con’s open-mindedness looks to be their strength in producing pro-fan events. This is certainly the first convention I’ve talked to with a discussion of modeling, and I somehow get the impression Hal-Con will find a way to top this in the years to come.
Over in Novia Scotia? A fan? Sounds like you owe yourself a trip to Hal-Con!

This was Brian and I’s first photo shoot together. And I must say that I was very pleased with the results. Part2 will be shot soon, involving a group shot of warriors and wenches…

Drakaina: Naughty or Nice…

The story behind the shoot:Â I wanted some Christmas pictures to send on my Christmas card (actual prints, not e cards), so I called Brian and asked him if he was interested. The concept was “So nice to be Naughty”, with a touch of Manga mixed with pin-up. The shoot went wonderfully, and Brian’s talent shines through out the pictures. It’s the second time we work together, and I must admit that I am totally smittened by his work.Whether it’s the lights or his angles, Brian’s style is very satisfying.
Needless to say much more photo shoots will come soon.

Password to the archives galleries revealed…
Lots of people are asking me for the password to the private archives. The main reason these galeries are protected is because they contain nudes pictures which I do not wish to make available to all people visiting my website (including kids and lukers..).That being said, I know some of you have a genuine interest in my work and just want to see more of my portfolio, and it’s fine with me. But… I am not gonna make it easy for you either lol If you can answer the following riddle, I will send you the password to the private galleries :
